Origins of the Avatar Ch 2Běijí was the capital of the Northern Water Tribe. It was a city of ice and snow, built by the water benders who lived there. It was an immaculate city of pure white, with carefully sculpted buildings and streets. The city stood in the center of the artic pole, surrounded by glaciers that served as barriers. In the front connecting the two large glaciers that surrounded the city was a large wall, built from ice, which stood around fifteen stories high. Eons ago when man was young, civilization had finally been established throughout the lands of the world. Men had finally created their societies and settled down; no longer wondering around like nomads. There were thousands of these societies spread throughout each of the two major continents, the large islands, and the artic tundra of the north and south. Even though each city was isolated from the others there were four major sects of religious worshipers.
